I never knew the name of these or if they were bees, wasps, Hornets so looked it up on the net.. i took this photo just now as the coconut pod was starting to open..the light is fading but you can see how big these things are.. the flower pod is about 3" wide. Had to use a stepladder to take the photo..interesting.

They are about an inch and a half to two inches ..the honey bees will be all over the coconut flowers in the morning..so will hummingbirds that feed on the nectar..so nice to see.
