Here's a photo of a spindle tree in my back garden its in berry now with these wonderful pink berries. I love the gnarled bark of this one, the berries and all parts of the plant are toxic. To me they are like small Chinese lanterns and look very delicate swaying around in the breeze.
They are important to wildlife and are worth growing for many reasons. I love sitting in my garden so ornamental trees are very appealing to me. ๐
Those berries are gorgeous, and like you said, just like little Chinese Lanterns - such a pretty ornamental tree. Great that you enjoy your garden and enjoy some peaceful moments there.
Gardens are such happy places, I just have a small patio garden now but I always enjoy being out there. Your tree is very unusual and pretty x
Hi Caz28 thank you and I agree that having some personal outdoor space is very good for the soul regardless of size, I really like ornamental heritage trees. ๐
Wow Jerry just seen this pic they are beautiful shame they are toxic look good enough to eat I never knew that tree existed you learn something everyday on here thanks for posting your garden sounds amazing mine is full of weeds next exercise plan me thinks ๐
Thanks Grannysqua , I'll let the birds eat them and just enjoy looking at them, I've got 2 of them. ๐
Thanks Jerry I always thought if the birds ate them they were ok donโt know where I heard that good job I didnโt go on that bit of wrong info I did often eat the odd plant from the garden as a child ๐คช and thanks I shall take a look when Iโve finished the ironing ๐
