Hi Kai, I have a Turbo Convection oven I bought on line from Wal Mart for about 35 dollars. Had it for a year and use it all the time. Works really good for many different foods , fish sticks, fries ect. Somethings the microwave is better some a regular oven, you just have to use it and you will figure it out. I can cut up potatoes, coat with oil and season. Place on rack and 20 minutes later they are ready and taste great. Today I may roast chicken legs, takes about 35 minutes. Just season and put on bottom rack. I never use top rack except for cheese toast, it is removable. In the summer won`t heat up the whole house like a regular oven and is faster. Not that hard to clean either. Good luck whatever you decide.
1οΈβ£ Place all the ingredients into a food processor and pulse until the chickpeas are finely minced. Do not over-pulse - the mixture should be coarse, not smooth/paste-y,
2οΈβ£ Using your hands, shape the falafel mixture into small balls, about 1.5" (3.8 cm) in diameter. Arrange about 9 falafel balls in a single layer in your air fryer basket and air-fry for about 15 minutes at 370-380Β°F (187-193Β°C). Repeat this process until you use up all the dough. The falafel is done when it's golden brown and crisp.
3οΈβ£ If you don't own an air fryer, you can bake the falafel at 375Β°F (190Β°C) until golden brown, about 30 minutes, flipping once at the halfway point for even cooking.
You can also pan-fry the falafel in a little bit of olive oil over medium heat, until evenly browned.
4οΈβ£ Store leftover falafel covered in the refrigerator for a few days, though best when fresh. Reheat in a 325Β°F (160Β°C) oven/air fryer.
For longer term storage, place the uncooked falafel balls on a cookie sheet. Put the cookie sheet in the freezer for about an hour or so. Remove the cookie sheet from the freezer and place the falafel balls into a freezer-safe bag or a container and place it back into the freezer. To thaw the uncooked falafel, transfer it in the refrigerator the day before you plan to cook it.

Recipe Notes:
*Soak the chickpeas in water for 24 hours so they soften up. When the chickpeas are soaked, drain the water, rinse the chickpeas thoroughly, and use as instructed. Do not cook the chickpeas.
*2 cups dried chickpeas yield about 5 cups soaked chickpeas.
**Prep time does not include soaking the chickpeas (24 hours).
. . . β’ the oven doesnβt do as well with more than 1 tray in. βοΈ
. . . β’ that air fryer needs to be stirred a lot but has more capacity. βοΈ
Very helpful points to be aware of. Much appreciated. π

Youβve got me thinking π€ π too about:
. . . β’ the oven being more like a replacement for a conventional oven β¨οΈ &
. . . β’ the air fryer being a space filler (taking up counter/ cabinet space) β particularly if itβs only used about once a week & weβve limited space. π³
All excellent points! Youβve got my wheels turning {{βοΈπ§ βοΈ}} β mulling this over π€ π !

Oh . . . yes, fully understand the weighing βοΈ : if it breaks do we replace it? Or, do we just βdo withoutβ or look π for something different to do the job? These gadgets can be pricey π°, so it takes thinking π€ through how we plan to use it, its practicality, & its actual functionality in our daily lives. Itβs juggling π€ΉββοΈ & weighing βοΈ multiplicity of factors. π³ π€― βΊοΈ
I don't know the oven brand, but our air fryer is a Swann one, I think. It looks like the red one in the very centre of your photo.
I'd be tempted by an actifry, because it stirs continuously itself, but they take up even more space!
Our kitchen space is very limited too, and we have a handful of gadgets to deal with. This one is hard because it doesn't fit very well in any cupboards, so it's always out.
If device self-stirs itself (without human βmanual interventionβ π€ π₯ ), all the better?! π€ π€ One less thing to have to remember to do & to do! π [Hmm . . . . π€ π. . . but, will it wash, dry βn fold laundry π§Ί , a n d . . put it away ππ π ππ π ?! . . . π βΊοΈ π ]

I know exactly what you mean with finite space. Things end up getting stacked vertically βοΈ (π― π€¦ββοΈ ) as horizontal βοΈ space diminishes π when we "get prepping, rinsing π₯¬ πΏ , chopping πͺπ₯, cooking β¨οΈ π² , washing 𧽠𧼠π½ . . . even βthe floorβ ends up being a (temporary) βholding spotβ of last resort! π³ π€ π
Weβve supplemented with small kitchen utility cart (on wheels) ( google.com/search?as_q=smal... ) & tried to βmake doβ, Cooper27. π
Unfortunately, if weβre stuck with tiny (βͺοΈ) kitchen area , thereβs not much more we can do to more efficiently use space when every square inch (horizontal βοΈ & vertical βοΈ ) is already occupied with essentials β even after weβve βpurgedβ πβοΈ inessentials & βreorganisedβ π‘π’. π€·ββοΈ π€¦ββοΈ

Lesson learned. ππ¨ . . .
Never settle for βͺοΈ kitchen (if at all possible) if daily, from-scratch, fresh food prep, cooking, storage, etc. is a routine β»οΈ part of our (& our familyβs) daily life!
The never-ending βΎ annoyance π , frustration π£ , irritation π . . . π³ π€ π€― at trying to accomplish simple daily tasks with limited, βͺοΈ counter space, βͺοΈstorage area, . . . is just not worth it.
[If one frequently dines out π± and/or lives on takeaway π₯‘ , a βͺοΈ kitchen is likely a non-issue, but if you rely on daily, home-prepared meals π₯£ π₯ π― π² π π , a βͺοΈ kitchen can be a nightmare. π π π» π π± ]
The never ending juggling π€ΉββοΈ (& literal balancing βοΈ ) of items & trying to βmake roomβ for things & trying to safely accomplish tasks β doesnβt get easier. π¬
I purchased a Black and Decker toaster oven with built in airfryer. Very excited!
I did read the reviews on the machine and many said it is very slow.
But using plant based meals, i thought that it may fry them faster. But it just made the top surface hard and no color to it. The middle portion looked uncooked.
I did not add any oil to it.
I kept increasing the time on it thinking it will work. But i guess i may have not learnt much about it. Returned as it was a few days old.
[Good grief! π€¦ββοΈ . . . Just how much time do we have to expend researching π΅οΈββοΈ π π (& acquiring) an appliance that meets our modest/ reasonable needs?! π€¦ββοΈ π π . . . (Crazy making π€ͺ .)]
Good luck π .
