Jawbone or Fitbit?

Hi, I have given up on pedometers, my latest one lasted just one month before it gave up the ghost, so as I have a birthday in a few months I have decided to buy a decent step counter. Does anyone have a jawbone or Fitbit? I don't know much about either of them. Any advice gratefully received! Thanks

I have a Fitbit flex but have had others in the past. I think as long as you accept that the step count they give is a guide rather than exact they are fine. Things like car journeys can increase the step count. I don't use mine much now but did for a few months & found it helpful as it gave me a starting point & made me able to compete against myself in increasing my activity in a way that was recorded.

Thanks for that, I suppose the only real way is to get out there and move!

Do you have a smartphone? You can download an app from either the App Store for Apple iPhone, or Android store.

I have a jawbone Up Move, very simple device that counts steps, but can do more. I bought it after recommendation on here from Caz28 . I paid £15 on Amazon. I find it really inspires me to move more 😊 I didn't want to pay more until I knew I would use it.

I will look at that on Amazon, thank you.

Hi, I had a fitbit charge hr which I loved! But the strap started to disintegrate long before it should have done and was not replaceable. Before I returned it I bought a jawbone up move and wore them together for a couple of days - the step counts were reliably similar.

I preferred the fitbit but am impressed with the up particularly given the low price on amazon.

Thanks for that, I have looked on Amazon none of them seem have outstanding reviews. I'll try the app on my phone and see how I get on with that. As I said I really need to move more!

I love my Fitbit Flex. In fact, I'm on my second one. Fitbit is great about working with you if you have problems too. I love having challenges with my friends. I know the step count isn't totally accurate, but that doesn't bother me. I'm now walking (if you totally believe the step count!) 25-35 miles a week and feeling great.

That is really impressive, well done! I suppose none of them are 100% accurate but it gives you something to aim for and to challenge yourself.
