Vegan pie beats 499 meat pies to top award
Hi Andy,
That 'Curried Sweet Potato, Butternut Squash & Spinach Pie' sounds extremely tasty.
Zest
I wonder what they'd say if a gluten free, vegan pie won next year!
Brilliant! It looks and sounds delicious 😋
I think it's wonderful news for the person who made it.
Why would a vegetable pie cause outrage.
Do the judges actually taste them or are they going on what they look like.
Would love to try it.
LOL.
It sounds tasty enough, but I think I'd be physically unable to eat that. I literally can't cope with stodge anymore.
Mashed sweet potato + squash is considered a dessert on this side of the planet. It's served in little squishy blobs with ice, fruit, and coconut cream.
I suspect vegan pies are winning prizes because the quality of British meat these days is so exceedingly poor.
And chef Corrigan looks like he needs to back off on the pies for a while ...
Vegan pies are lush.
There is a company called Mr. Nice Pie that do very nice pies but they are expensive though.
My favourite of their’s is Sweedy Todd. Swede, and other ingredients, can’t remember what, but it’s very tasty.
Clive’s pies are nice as well.
A company called Abel & Cole sell Clive’s pies.
Clive’s Homity pie is yummy. It’s not vegan but vegetarian as it has dairy in it.
I have tracked the company making them. jonthorners.co.uk/
Thanks. It looks like they do a great range of pies that I would love to try.
