Here''s what I had for lunch today, its home made GF garlic and herb bread with some Hereford hop cheese salad, with salad sandwiches I love the combination of yeast extract with mayo or coleslaw and I had and some organic baby tomatoes. The salad is a mixed bistro with grated beetroot.
Wow, your homemade GF Garlic and Herb Bread looks wonderful, and the filling in your sandwich is scrumptious! I bet it tasted amazing. Glad you enjoyed it.
You take care too! This looks like a proper sandwich! ๐ Iโm going to have to put nutritional yeast in a sandwich as youโve mentioned that before but I keep forgetting about it. Sounds great. Ali
Wifeโs been trying for last month to make bread, hasnโt succeeded yet, any advice ?
Hi Nugger, one of the the most important things is to use Luke warm water with the yeast and treat it gently and just follow the recipe. I use ordinary yeast and leave it to wake up for up to 20mins before I make the bread.
I leave it to prove in a slightly warm oven to help the bread rise.
Hello Jerry, may we have the GF recipe please for your bread?
Many thanks
Felicity
Hi Felicity here it is and I vary what flour I use and seeds that I add but here's the recipe:
450g GF bread flour
400ml Luke warm water with 1 tea spoon of sugar and 2 teaspoons of yeast
3eggs
1 Table spoon olive oil
Sesame and pumkin seeds,
1 tea spoon Ground dried garlic
1 table spoon chives
1 tea spoon of salt
Mix the yeast and leave it to wake up while you put the other ingredients in a food processor whiz up and sprinkle seeds on top.
Leave to prove in a warm draught free place, (I use my top oven) for about 30 mins then bake at 160C for 25/30 mins, this makes one large loaf and a couple of rolls. And the rolls are cooked sooner.
If you check out the GF Topics and Freshly Baked Bread Topics there are other variations of gluten free bread there.
Jerry that bread looks amazing I am definatly going to look for GF flour could you put up ingredients and how you made it ? Also yeast extract? Thereโs so much I donโt know ๐ฌ
