I’ve been trying to sprout buckwheat (love it!), linseed and chia seeds.
Buckwheat doesn’t seem to sprout at all. I’ve watched the YT videos and alas not working for me. I’ve tried different things. Water in jar for 48 hours and zip. Water in jar for 24 hours then drained and waited - zip. Water in jar 24 hours, drained and then placed in sprouting tray - zip. The placed on soil in tray - zip.
Chia seeds - great, v green yet no height beyond 2cm!!) two trays one without soil and one with soil. Same result. Each day just gets greener yet no more height.
Linseed - on terracotta tray with water. Zip!
Azuki beans going well. They look so nice and have little leaves - now I’m wondering if still ok to cut wash n eat.
Watercress - seeds germinated and have tiny little stalks. Tomorrow will put with other sprouts (little green house spot). Cross fingers and hope they’ll grow and look like what is on the packet.
Anyone got ideas about sprouting. Especially buckwheat - I’m flopping here big time!
Thanks

I just wanted to wish you well with your sprouting - it's great that you're trying to do this, and I hope that you'll be able to get that Buckwheat sprouting soon! I don't have any personal experience - but I admire your attempts to do this.
For anyone in the UK sprouting could be a lifesaver if we bunk out of the EU without a deal since it can make those pulses and seeds go further. Notice how I didn't use the B word there!
The sprouts are growing nicely!! Love love love chopping them and blending them with other veg and drinking.
Buckwheat - well I’ve let the dream go...it’s just not happening, so moved on.
Azuki beans - brilliant!! Totally surprised. They’re very very easy to sprout and the shoots are a beautiful vivid green! Wonderful.
Watercress - getting there....slow but getting there.
Raffish - great!!
Sunflower - really good yet the green is quite dark, so I’m a little nervous about eating. Will let them continue to grow and if I’m brave enough, I’ll blend and drink them too.
Oh chia seeds are good too. They don’t seem to grow beyond 3cm....hmmm oh well.
Linseed - not much going on there. Some grown some not. I’m not too excited about blending these. I’m kind of putting sunflower and linseed sprouts in the maybe box
