As someone who is always obsessed and worried consistently about how i can stay healthy , that wasn't the case when i was younger , but as soon as you start your family and have your first child , this is when it all started , i started doing monthly checkups on everything basically , cholesterol , vitamin levels , diabetes , all usually did make sense , however , i had this small problem , i had severe vitamin D deficiency , after reading a lot about it , iv came to many conclusion , as i had all the factors to keep my vitamin D very low , i was always overweight , my job kept me from going out and seeing the light , so sun was far away all week , except sometimes in the weekends , i have a light skin , and they told me this also is a factor , this was a nightmare for a while , but i did follow one advice i got after contently researching the subject

i quote "Be sure to map out your levels of vitamin D deficiency before trying any treatments, and get your levels checked after a couple of months on your new regime to make sure that you have increased your levels to a healthy amount. While exploring your vitamin D deficiency treatments, it is important to keep checking your levels even if you feel great, just to be certain.

The thing is , i always assumed that going to the pharmacy and getting supplements would do the trick , but that is not true , i apparently needed to handle each level of deficiency as a separate case , and that is what i had to do for a long period , untill i got it right

Have you talked to your doctor about which type of vit. D you need? Each person is different and needs to have either more or less than the next person.

Here in the states we don’t have ins for less than $750 a month nth unless we get Medicare which I will in April

That depends on the state you live in. I live in California and my wife gets her insurance with Kaiser for $125/mo. If you live in a "red state" that didn't go along with Obamacare, you're likely to have less competition so have to pay more.

Most of the research into VitD shows a relationship of VitD to good health. However it does not show a causal relationship. Instead these observational studies show a correlation only.

So does taking VitD supplements actually help health outcomes is the real question. This is what ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/230... asks.

There is a serious argument that as your body returns to good health then along with that your VitD levels will normalise - naturally! So the real answer, I think, is to choose the foods you eat to improve your health, and so avoiding donuts that smell so irresistible could be a better lifestyle choice. Oh, and get 30 mins sunshine a day.
