The remains of last night’s supper

This dish from The Doctor’s Kitchen was delicious. It’s the second time I’ve tried it and it’s going to be a favourite - Whole roast Broccoli with Zesty Masala dressing.

Love his book with lots of really good information on why and how certain foods are good for you. A great fusion of east-west with a good course of Mediterranean dishes. More than your average recipe book.

With broccoli on offer at our local farm for 40p - how could you not?

Definately one to try! Have you made it?

The only thing is every new recipe manages to have one ingredient not in my quite extensive cupboard - this time - nigella seeds go on the shopping list.

Yes I have made it often, it works well. It is a pain about all the ingredients you need for new recipes I agree. I can't shut my spice cupboard any more! The Nigella seeds are in Sainsbury's and Tesco, but to be honest if you made it without it wouldn't matter greatly. The pumpkin seeds are full of magnesium though and I sometimes add a few more.

I've been looking at Doctor's Kitchen on Youtube and I am now a follower. So thanks again for that.

Check out his FB page as he often does live hangouts when he is cooking. I’ve just enrolled on his course but it’s oversubscribed so on the waiting list.

Hey CDreamer, this sounds delicious as I love broccoli and all baked veggies, I googled masala dressing which also sounds delicious and a perfect accompaniment. So. thanks for posting this great photo and telling us about the book.

Thanks for doing that - I can’t paste the link because my tech-know-flipping-ology sends you to my account - which I don’t particularly want! It’s a great book as so much information in it.

I’ve also roasted cabbages - cut into segments -just wrap the cabbage in foil or paper, spoon over a dressing or stock and cover and bake for about 45 mins. Only time you will ever be asked for seconds with cabbage. Savoy works best, they taste so sweet in comparison to boiled or steamed.
