Hi

I’m giving up on slimming clubs and going to try and find a healthy eating plan that will help me lose weight and lower my cholesterol but I really struggle processing vegetables and fruit as they bloat me and then I give up.

Fresh start today

Hi Rubie2

It might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about bloating from veg and fruit?

If you are introducing new foods, do it really gradually to let your body adjust, just small amounts of one thing at a time. If you can cut out the sugary foods and drink, that’s always a good place to start.

Bloating can be caused by swallowing air whilst chewing and not chewing each mouthful enough.

Penel is right that ir takes time for your body to adjust to vegetables etc. Consider juicing as that can reduce fibre which might help.

The good news is that since plants contain no cholesterol your body should reduce its bad cholesterol reasonably quickly.
