I'm a vegetarian,60 years old.I had my gallbladder out last year and still have liver issues. I have an under-active thyroid, psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. I need to loose some weight as my BMI is 30 and my waste is too big. I lost some weight when I went gluten free and also lost some inches off my waist but still need to get all this under control. So I have cut down on carbs and I am trying to cut down on fat but it's no easy, there's nothing left. I don't eat processed foods only fruit and veg. What is there left which wont cause pain from the liver but will help me loose weight?

Hi Concerned,Nice to hear from you again. My main Idea is to reduced carbs.,the thing which are taking place of the bread that I don't eat,if you see what I mean, and eat most of my carbs. from from veg. but although I agree that good fats are a must my liver seems to have other ideas.
I had a glucose test at the supermarket (4.6) so I'm not worried about that. I supose I'm worried that my liver isn't coping.
Why does fermented dairy cause higher insulin levels?
Thank you.x
My recommendation would be to ask your GP to refer you to a nutritionist / dietician to help maintain good health whilst at the same time taking into account your illness/s which can be sensitive to certain food types, at the same time to try and achieve some weight loss.
Wishing you every success.
Thanks Blakey,I shall see if he will.
