I'm sorry to see that my simple attempts to stimulate some discussion on issues like the sugar tax have resulted in my being in effect 'slapped down' for expressing opinions that deviate from the politically correct agenda. Unfortunate but sadly a sign of the times. Freedom of speech is fine so long as you say the right things.

Brydon2018 : well, that's Modern Britain for you :)

I would stick around a bit, there are plenty of people who will engage you in debate.

Your post questioned the politics and economics of the food industry. Your right to be cynical when large amounts of money (greed) are involved. You can argue either way whether it should be posted but I think as a healthy eating forum it has done a good job in raising the awareness of the harm that sugar can do.

Will the sugar tax much difference? Yes, I believe so. Not that the nation’s health will change much in the short term but people will start questioning why do we have a sugar tax? The first step to change is awareness and this will happen as a result of the sugar tax.

I don't see how it's possible to have a forum about healthy food without debating such key issues as what is "healthy" and what is "food". It's kind of fundamental. 🙄 Don't give up Brydon2018.
