2 eggs once a day. It’s not going to be bad for the cholesterol, but if you are worried, then please let your doctor know first before you try the idea.😀

Every meal for diabetes needs to have both carbs and proteins.

You can have one or two boiled eggs, complete. There is no problem of cholesterol. That concept has been proved wrong of avoiding the yellow. The yellos part has 50% of the eggs proteins and over 50% of the nutrition.

You can also have baked beans. Try to have whole grains like oats with almonds etc.

Exactly right! Two eggs and a Greek yogurt have 12-13 grams of protein in the yogurt. There’s 12 in the eggs because each egg has 6 grams of protein on their own.

Conventional wisdom of carb-rich balanced meal has all gone wrong and more so for T2D. Type 2 Diabetics should reduce consumption of carbohydrate as much as practical. This single step alone can reduce medicine dosage and in many cases no medication may be required. Low carb green veg should be included for vitamins, minerals and fibre.

True, the T2D are usually told to bring down the proportion of Carbs to about 30% instead of the usual 50%. That too only complex carbs and no simple carbs.

Its not possible to have zero carbs, but getting it as low as possilble helps in insulin control.

I usually have two whole eggs fried with coconut oil or butter topped with mozzarella cheese, herbs and ground flaxseeds. I also dizzel some generous amount of extra virgin olive oil and few tablespoons of full cream yogurt.

As you may be aware, we the diabetics can not process carbohydrate as efficiently as non-diabetics and carbohydrate raises blood sugar highest followed by protein and the rise in BS due to fat is the least. On top of that, for majority of the Type 2 Diabetics, the insulin resistance is high in the morning hour.

It therefore makes sense to have a breakfast that is low in carbohydrate and high in fat. If you are non-vegetarian there should not be much of a problem. You can choose egg and meat including fish and generous portion of green veg, the only source of carbohydrate.

I also support Luckysugar and Activity2004 menu. May be you can add some veg salad to that. Do not use low fat yoghurt. Always go for full fat/cream.
