Hi all

I am over weight for my size and age and fed up with dieting what can i do to feel better and healthier ??????

I share your woes on this one. The latest way to eat healthily without counting sins, ww points or calories is to mimic a more "natural" way of eating.

Think....if I were a caveman living wild, what would I eat? Meat, Fish, Leaves, Roots, Fruit, Berries, Nuts, Eggs..definitely all of these.

Maybe a little amount Cheese, Bread, cereal, honey - but not a lot as it takes a long time to grow or find or prepare these!

As for sugar based product, manufactured sweets, desserts, biscuits, crisps...Mr Cave Man never had the time or energy or know-how to produce these foods so these are a definite No.

Do you fancy trying that strategy.....?

Also, he walked a lot, climbed a few trees, swam, canoed, and slept when it got dark....

To lose weight you'll need to do some form of calorie restriction, but don't regard this as a diet, think of it as developing a way of healthy eating that will last the rest of your life.

Because even if you did 'diet' and lose weight, if you then go back to your former way of eating your weight will return.

You don't say anything about the foods you currently eat, but you should be looking towards foods that are nutrient rich but have low calorie density, things like healthy carbs, fruits and vegetables, all minimally processed.

Exercise! exercise!! exercise!!! The best way to lose weight is to exercise. The health benefits of exercising is much much more than the best diet. However, combining the two i.e. exercising with great healthy dishes is awesome. Have a positive mind and make the best out of each day. You can either start with a brisk walk for 30mins and gradually add running if u can for same time. Remember to make it a fun moment. Cheers!!!
