Hi! I've recently taken mine and my family´s eating habits to a new and healthier level, by crossing out the white sugar, the white flour and the white rice, replacing it with more sustainable alternatives. I joined here to get further inspiration an tips on how to improve. We have all the possibilities in the world to cook and eat healthy, but it does take some time, research and interest, and of course to actually take action, find out where to buy the good ingredients and do the actual cooking and preparing. Healthy recipes will be most welcome.

Well done for the move that should help your family’s health in the long term. Be careful of diet drinks – those empty foods are not for your benefit.
I can recommend Patrick Holford’s books who is a highly respected nutritionist such as his book “The 'Low-GL' Diet Cookbook: Easy, recipes for weight loss, health and energy”. You will get a variety of healthy recipes and an insight into healthy eating. It will build on your removal of refined carbs in your diet as his recipes are wholefoods. Don't be put off by the weight loss in the title - overweight people who moved onto this diet should naturally lose weight because of the removal of refined carbs.
May I suggest you consider growing some of your own food even it is just a single item even something as simple as a pot of chives on the windowsill or runner beans (or french climbing beans) next year as they are abundant and easy to grow. You mention that you have a family so great education for yourself and children. There is so much joy in growing your own: watching it grow, picking it and eating it.
Hi Phil, thanks for the suggestions, I found the book in amazon and it will be considered, although to be honest I like to find recipes online and print the one i like most, collecting them in a binder.
I do actually grow some vegetables as of this summer! It´s really refreshing and my 11 year old son loves to grab some sweat peas, and we are exited to try the carrots and parsnips when they are ready. We also grow salad outside, and tomatoes and chilli inside The chilis are too strong for me though, but I might try to cook with them anyways.
Well done. I found a banana ice cream on the internet that is basically just frozen bananas, nothing else and here it is:

I'm going to be honest, I haven't made this yet but will be as I am removing lactose from my diet as I'm pretty sure it doesn't like me (I have IBS C).
