I don't do well with healthy recipes or options

Hi guys. I'm posting here because I am fed up with myself, my image and the reluctance to tackle my fat self.

I make excuses and eat the wrong foods. I do buy healthy stuff, but it ends up going rotten because I don't fancy it.

What my struggle is, is being inventive with healthy recipes and buying what i need that I can use across lots of recipes that aren't ingredients that are going to end up in the bin.

I have a similar problem. I try to buy healthy food & it winds up going bad because I am not a person who cooks. I eat out most of the time which doesn't help with my weight.

Hi Zala88 and SassyRA ,

I don't know if this would be helpful, but maybe pick out a recipe you'd like to try, and buy the ingredients just of that recipe - and then batch cook it - portion and freeze it? That way you'd be buying sufficient for your needs, and hopefully a recipe you like the look of, and feel motivated to make, and you'd then be able to have a stock of nice recipes you enjoy - if you make a few of them and batch cook them for variety?

I know it can sound time-consuming, but it can actually save time in the long-run, and minimise any waste.

Good luck!

Hope you're having a great week.

Agree with Zest below. My husband and me eat very differently so if I want to eat a curry then I make a big batch then portion and freeze the rest. Tonight I have decided to have a curry so I have taken it out of the freezer and hey presto, there is my meal.

Also, I do not like cooking meals and I think that is because I eat very differently from my husband so this is definitely the best way to tackle it.

Yeah I know I do need to do this. Only problem with batch cooking is I don't have space. I have a counter top freezer grr

That's a pain only having a very small freezer, best thing to do then is look for recipes that only serve one rather than 4 as most of them seem to serve.

Best of luck in whatever you do.
