Hi, I've been puzzled by the health benefits of soy, I keep hearing that it's bad for men and women because it raises the level of estrogen in the body. What would be your take on this?

Is soy and tofu good for you
It depends on the person and the situation. If a person is allergic, it would be a good idea to see the doctor and ask for an appointment.
In my view soya in any form is bad except fermented.
Whether it is good for you personally is your decision based on your genetics, age, gender, health issues, lifestyle, food availability, etc.
I now only eat fermented soya products due to the impact non-fermented soy has had on my hormonal health. The fermentation process deactivates the hormone wrecking component that
can make it goitrogenic for some people. Unfermented soy can reduce
both the production of thyroid hormones, & reduce the absorption at
cellular level, making it worse than other foods that may be goitrogenic to some people. So far, it's the only one I have a known issue with, & learned this the hard way.
I don't eat processed foods, so it's easy to avoid things that soy is sneaked in to as a filler or protein booster. I've had to give up soya milk, which I really don't miss, & tofu which I loved. I'll occasionally eat a few edemame in a salad, but stick to miso & tamari, & tempeh when I can get it.
Another issue is that it is high in agri-chemicals. I only ate organic soy, but that doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't sourced unethically.
Have a read of an article I have just read; I found it very informative: healthscams.org.uk/soy-food...
