grace111 profile image
grace111 in reply to rvmasalvad

most things that have not been modified with like beans they come from mother nature and then they have sauce put into them as in heinz beans so they are not mother nature anymore. potatoes and foods that grow in the ground and nuts and seeds and anything that is in its natural state. hope this helps. love grace xoxoxo

thanks grace 111.

I don't think meat and eggs come under category of foods produced by mother nature. These are derived foods from animals and birds after killing them and are eaten after processing by humans by cooking adding spices etc.,.like what is done in case of biscuits etc.,

you may perhaps know that vegans do not eat anything produced by animal sources including milk

your views are welcome

you are very right Hidden but :( now days even these things are modified...

Fresh fruits are selectively bred for more sweetness.

Vegetables are sprayed with pesticides..

Meat and eggs are also laced with lots of hormones injected to the producing animals.

:(

Food intake depends on our religion and belief

It's up to us .

What's meant by the above statement is that we should depend on natural foods than man made food / industry made

E.g. margarine is a man made food. It's a manipulated food. Oils are hydrogenated to make it appear like butter (butter is natural)

I would request to see the above statement in a broad sense

Not recommending meat or milk to all vegans or to vegetarians.. but these 're food available to those who can take it

For more e.g.

Nowadays soy foods are made available for pets like cats and dogs whereas their natural food are meat. So the industry is out to make quick bucks at the cost of the health of our pets

Similarly junk food industry is after us to feed junk. We 're better off eating what's cooked in out home as per our beliefs or habits

Hope this clears up things

Thank you. I am still to get into the track into understanding what is healthy diet.Activity 2004 has clarified this forum is for both non diabetics and diabetics and i feel any post here should concentrate on healthy diet for all instead of only for diabetic diet.

The easiest way to describe that is to say that they are foods nearest to how they came out of the ground, ideally organic and not factory produced.

Hi Hidden ,

I see you are a new Administrator here, so Welcome. :-)

Your post has reminded me I would like to buy some chilli peppers - they are very delicious and spice up my meals - I haven't got any at the moment, and like the way they are presented in the photo - they look appetising!

zest

Don't eat chilli red or green .you will get into gastric trouble and finally stomach ulcer. Only a small pinch for taste will do although botanists say chilli is concentrated vit C.it is unhealthy basically for many

Hi rvmasalvad ,

Thank you for expressing your concern, and I certainly wouldn't 'overdo' my consumption of chillies, but I do use some chopped up in meals occasionally - and I use fresh chillies on those occasions. If I'm using powdered chilli then I will use just a small pinch for taste. :-)

Zest if you really like chilies..then go for kashmiri chillies or mundu chilies.

Both are very mild...

also try some day chili pickle..

RED CHILLI PICKLE

Ingredients

*12 green or red chillies (Bhavnagri or Picador varieties) n 1/2 cup mustard seeds n 3 tsp salt (or as per taste) n 1 tsp haldi n 1 cup mustard oil

Method

*Grind the mustard seeds in a mixer till they are coarse.

*To make the filling, add 1/2 cup of mustard oil, salt and haldi powder to the processed mustard. Keep it aside.

*Wash and dry the chillies and then wipe them individually.

*Slit each chilli using a sharp knife. Fill the cavity of each chilli with the mustard paste.

*Place all the chillies gently in a glass jar and pour the remaining mustard oil on top.

*Keep it in hot sun for at least 4-5 days before consuming the pickle.

Nothing more need be said, I hope this message gets well circulated.

Her book is a good read; Gut and Pschology Syndrome in which she talks about Autism and another by Giulia Enders called "Gut, the inside story" explains a lot about our illnesses.
