Hi, newbie here, decided to re download my calorie counter to keep a check on my daily intake. Over the last year I've put on a stone due to lack of discipline and exercise so it's time to take control and get healthy and feel fit again. Hopefully will rejoin my local jogging group again soon once I've built back up a bit of fitness, don't think I can manage 4 miles straight away π

Hi Cheese23 ,
Welcome to the Healthy eating forum. Great that you've downloaded your calorie counter and I'd like to wish you success with your weight loss goals. Are you also a member of the 'NHS weight loss' forum on Healthunlocked? I would recommend it, as there is lots of support there - particularly the weigh-in groups (which are daily) and you can choose the day that suits you best for weekly support (if that's an option that appeals to you).
The Couch to 5k forum is also great for the running side of things, or there's a 'Tortoise & Hare' club in the NHS weight loss community - which is good fun.
Have you seen the NHS weight loss pages? If not, here's a link:

The NHS 12 week plan is really good - gives great structure and tips.
Wishing you a great week.

Even if you are not yet fit enough for jogging , walking is as good as long as you keep up a good pace. And before that just walking is beneficial. Aim for at least 30 minutes 4/ 5 times a week to start.
