My partner has been told that he has high blood pressure, he needs to loose weight. He would not look for help, so I am going to eat healthy with him . My question is where do we start. I want to shop for the weeks meals so need a plan. Regards Anniegates

Hi Anniegates,
Welcome to the Healthy Eating community. A good starting place might be this website, which is connected to this forum, and is about losing weight in a healthy way:
nhs.uk/livewell/healthy-eat...
There is also another community in Health unlocked which is called NHS weight loss, and that might be a great support for your partner with regard to losing weight - as they have online weigh-in sessions each day, and they can be very encouraging and fun to be a part of. So worth a look if you are interested.
Wishing you both success with your goals.

p.s. Here is a link to the NHS weight loss community, if you want to have a look:
there's an article on this site about restricted eating/ intermittent fasting. Have a little read. I have lost 8lb in weight since following 16:8 since 1st February and feel fab. Hope this helps 🌡
Best way is to go back to basics, fresh home cooked meals will be much healthier for you and your partner. Always use lean cuts of meat, plenty of veg and salad, swap your white rice, pasta, bread and noodles of wholegrain or whole-wheat options. Swap chips and mash for jacket potatoes or boiled potatoes. Planning ahead is key so its definitely a great way to start.
