I wake up a few hours after bed feeling sick...

...I feel like I'm going to be sick, but if I stay calm and do some deep breathing it goes away in ten minutes or so and then I can get back to sleep. It happened last night and two nights last week - I've been reading up on the internet and it could be acid reflux.\

I have a shift job where I work from early afternoon to late evening and tend to get home around 10pm. Usually I have something to eat then, but since this started happening I've tried to eat very little when I get in, but sometimes I'm still hungry and have to have something! Last night I had a mini baguette with clover and several orange juices and went to bed about an hour and a half after eating this - I must have gone to sleep about 1.30am and woke up an hour later.

Last week when it happened I'd had a pizza that evening, but this was at least six hours earlier, though I had snacked not long before bed.

I'm pretty sure this is acid reflux, but I can't take anything for that when I wake up because I take my antidepressants just before I go to sleep and the antacids I bought say not to take them within three hours of other medication.

Does anyone have any advice/tips for me?

Thanks.

Late night meals don't go very well with our digestive system. They are bound to create a foul feeling the next day. If you have a late shift try to have a meal as early as possible, near your workplace, if it's easily available.

Take a look here for better understanding the problem and possible cure.
