I have had a stressful 3 days

I rent out houses

My tenants trashed the house

I have coped by drinking Horlicks instead of by drinking wine and I have coped well in replacing and fixing and cleaning and now I've got a new tenant but I'm selling the house it's not worth the stress

I was awake to 4am last night stressing

Hi Bonni1

It's me again. I know how you feel. I work as a cleaner, but I'm off work just now, long term sick due to chronic stress. It's a long mad story that I wont get into just now. But, years ago I worked for a landlord cleaning multiple occupancy flats. Now I know why you drink so much! It was nuts. The behaviour of some of the tenants was insane. Some of them were genuinely led out the flats in handcuffs and off to the psychiatric ward. I had to stop telling people about what was going on because they didn't believe me. It was like doing a psychology course. It was still one of the best things I've ever done with my life as I learnt so much about people. The main thing I learned was that I would never be a landlord. Too much trouble, and too much stress. The landlord himself was apparently a nice guy in earlier years, but turned into a raving psycho. I think you have found the solution by selling the house, also, good for you for sticking with Horlicks! Please feel free to reply as the last five months have made me a bit of an expert on stress. I feel your pain, I genuinely do. And remember, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Be brave, be strong and you will live long.

all the very best.

I had my brother and his partner in my house for 2 years

I bought a brand new kitchen ,brand new oven ,new doors through out and new indoor skirting boards

I gave them back 100 of deposit until I discovered the state of the house

I can cope with cleaning and painting

But the kitchen is distroyed with scratches (on average 150 deep scratches )

Their dog has chewed all the skirting board and one door

The house was big time a discusting hole (I can cope with that)

But because I am refraining the rest of their deposit 350 pound to replace a kitchen work top ,new skirting board for living room (dog chewed Badly)

An inside door a new oven (dirty and covered in rust)

My brother is refusing to clear out the properties garden which is full of dog shite

I cracked up at his girlfriend when I asked her when he is cleaning the shit and she replied he is not as you are keeping our deposit.

Just ahh pass me the wine 😖

Hi Bonni1

Thank you. I know exactly what you're going through, But don't pass the wine, pass the Horlicks. What your brother and partner did to the house happened all the time with my employer. It is possible though to get good tenants and when you do you'll be blown away by the difference! But please, please try and fight the first drink. I know how hard it is, but if you can you'll feel much better in the morning and be able to deal more easily with your work. less stress and anxiety.

Please take care and be strong.

Hi, what is Horlicks?

It's a powdered drink you buy

In big stores like Tesco

It's a hot milky drink you add water to and it helps sleep

Sorry guys, but this Horlicks stuff sounds nasty. But if I quit using beer or wine to sleep, guess I should be looking for something else.

I've dropped the drinking because it may be a factor in my asthma...yeast and sugar, and even though it's only been two weeks I'm already hardly using any medication. I believe all together this diet is working!
