I'm going out for an indian meal. What meals are low fat/calorie for indian meals? I'm thinking Tandoori with a tarka dahl on side.

We go out to the Indian once a week - my husband's favourite food (well almost!) I just have veggies and avoid all the carbs - often they will have vegetable 'Thali' on the menu but that often is too much for me and comes with rice and a nan. My problem is resisting having a Cobra or Kingfisher. I think because of the spices you are soon full and I can not manage more than three veggie dishes.

Problem is almost everything is cooked with oil, butter or ghee, including the vegetables. The least unhealthy is chicken cooked in the tandoor (oven) so chicken tikka (but not masala!) or tandoori chicken. I suppose the tandoori king prawn might be an alternative, but I've read some nasty things about how the king prawns are farmed in Thailand. The pilau rice and nan are cooked with oil, and boiled rice is white rice, so the best bet is a chapatti which is grilled wholemeal bread.
