Hi SillyPanda (love your username btw). I like having a container with dried apricots or nuts like pistachio and cashew (which I buy raw and pop in a hot oven until golden! yummy). Actually, you question reminds me I need to get some more of those goodies as I have been having mostly candy!! Very naughty

I think there are many good options for breakfast. I dont like eating always the same thing! Because we stay 6-7 without eating (while we sleep - unless you sleepwalk and...) our glucose reserve (Glycogen) is probably low when we get up, so some good carbs and fruits are always a good call.

Before the gym I think is good to have some low or medium GL carbs (19 or lower) depending on the type of workout. I found this GL list with some popular foods: health.harvard.edu/newsweek...

The Harvard geeks also explain GL here: hsph.harvard.edu/nutritions...

Thank you very much! :) I just find it hard to stop snacking between meals, I like the fruit idea though!

Hi I have a full bottle of water which I try and drink out of instead of eating, fizzy water makes me feel fuller too. I have just made some homemade cereal bars with over ripe bananas and porrige oats, literally mixed them together with some sultanas and baked on a medium heat for about 20 mins. I also buy the Christmas selections packs that are reduced everywhere at the moment, all the chocs in there are small so if I do go for choccy at least it minimises the damage.

Cereal bars like wheetos or coco pops are better for you as well, also metcalfes skinny popcorn - you can get it from pound land for a pack of four and has some lovely favours.

Otherwise I have sugar free chewing gum in the car for when I'm driving as find this a time I really tempted to munch.

Lastly melba toasts are quite a nice snack with a low fat triangle or reduced sugar jam?

Think it's ok to snack if it's in moderation and on the right things!

Hope this helps

Amber
