I've been watching the original versions of fables and fairy tales on youtube, and surprisingly they can get somewhat gruesome, but amazingly, not triggering๐๐ ig I'm more astounded by the lessons learned, which, learning is very healthy๐ig?

SunRhaiah,
I didn't know there were YouTube presentations. How'd you find them? Sounds interesting.
When I was younger, I used to read fairy tales from all over the world, mythology too. I agree, the original versions of many tales contain graphic physical and emotional violence. It's hard to even find original versions. Even early anthologists rewrote to suit the taste of their readers.
The picture is from Br'er Rabbit. I loved these stories when I was a little girl. It wasn't until I was an adult, rereading them, that I understood they were about the experience of slavery.
