Hi Motor T,

I have read some of your post history and have a bit of an understanding of what you are going through. Have you read the Holy Bible? Have you prayed to Jesus Christ for strength and protection? Doctors and medication can only do so much, perhaps this is a spiritual issue?

Hi, sorry you're having a tough time. I find I don't have any good memories anymore, everything is negative.

I would recommend contacting your local IAPT if you haven't already.

I had sleep anxiety which sounds kind of similar and they should be able to help you.

Look after yourself.

Hi, so sorry you’re going through this alone. My husband had similar anger issues and anxiety. His GP prescribed sertraline and he is much calmer now. He has also found it’s helpful to go to his local Headway group and talk to people in similar situations. They meet in Stockport once a week, but I know there are groups all over the UK. Membership at our group varies a lot, from people who have never worked as their injury happened when they were young, to an international lawyer who had a cycling accident! I’m sure you will find someone to relate to. Good luck. 🤞

Hi MotorT, I am a Acquired Brain Injury patient from a virus in 2015.

I was the same as yourself with no effective treatment from NHS.

I had to go to a private Neurologist and am now seizure free and managing all my cognitive issues with Medical Cannabis oil and flower.

It has dramatically improved my quality of life and I now have my driving licence back too.

Hi ginga, glad I've found you! Not many ABI folk post on here, I'm one too. Yup, virus for me too. Twice! First time was flu in 2015 and then covid three years ago. Medical cannabis is a recent discovery for me, but it saved my life. So it looks like we have a lot in common.

Have you been prescribed or are you doing in the other way...? What steps did you have to go through to be eligible?

Prescribed. There was an advert on the back of the paperwork I got with my winter vaccinations. I had just been buying my own, illegally, and had notified my various NHS docs. They all said it was a great plan, but weirdly, none of them told me about the legal option.

Yea it seems to be massively under reported. I'll have a rummage.

hi .. I’m not sure if this is relevant to you but I had PTSD prior to my TBI and had nightmares for approximately 15 years with maybe a few nights off 🥴 .. this all came from another traumatic event ( to long to get into) but I did get relief for the nightmare from counselling .. from past experiences I can say it does help and my last job was a mental health support worker and I witnessed the improvements with others from talking to others .. pretty much like being on here and others with wonky brains that understand .. I don’t believe in miracles but I do believe in trying anything and have a go at other types of advice people share .. unfortunately we have injuries to the worse part of your body you can damage .. Drs don’t know and or arnt Clued up of the rehab that is needed .. on here is most definitely been the best place for me ..Sue 😊
