If the medics think moving from the ICU is feasible, then that must be good regardless of the state of conciousness. Its a long tortuous journey back whilst the brain recovers from damage and that does take time.

Be brave, be patient and just remember that recovery is happening even though you cannot see it. Even the medics will not be able to assess a longer term prognosis at this stage. Even conciousness is no guarantee of what the ultimate outcomes will be.

But more than all this, have hope and look for positive signs, however small or insignificant they may seem to you. And feel free to come here with your questions and fears. Most of us are not medically qualified, but have experienced trauma to themselves or those close to them and as such we can give our knowledge and hope to you.

Wishing you and your close friend our ❤️ at a difficult time of year.

This must be the worst period where Brain injury's concerned. The waiting..

Ironically it's everyone but the afflicted person who's anxious. I was so saddened on learning of the uncertainty & anxiety my loved ones had been through.

Time is brain injury's main healer ; whilst you see no signs of progress, your friend's brain will be silently diverting around damaged areas to utilize other pathways. But it's often a painfully slow process. Hang in there m'love.

All best wishes......x
