Cerebral inertial damage pain

I suffered a severe road accident 48 years ago and have been having excruciating paralysis pain down the right side of my face and body since then.

I am due to go to the pain clinic at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, but have not found them very helpful and have tried very many painkillers which have not been effective.

Has anyone else suffered from a similar pain and if so how did you deal with it. Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Hi Dg. Sorry to see no one identifies with your issue. I have a great deal of untreated pain (Orthopaedic issue) so you have my sympathy. Who is handling your treatment ; is it your GP ?

From what you describe, your pain sounds neurological. Who referred you to the pain clinic and has anyone suggested you see a neuro physiotherapist ? If it's neuropathic pain there are various physical treatments such as massage, acupuncture & others available, but eligibility probably depends on a firm diagnosis.
