Friday I went to see physio regarding my neck MRI..I were told I have a grotty neck n suspected bulging against my spinal cord these new developments have warranted a referral to see a consultant to determine if it needs surgery to prevent the condition worsening I've no clue as to how my neck is in such a state...the only thing I can put it down to is a car hitting me back in the 80s..I did speak about the crack in my skull but he wernt interested I'm putting it down to it not being his area of expertise..so I now face another rabbit hole of god knows what before I even get a sniff of Neurology...I suppose I am making progress n I will get the right test on my head the CT head scan was o.k but it the inner workings of my brain that needs looking at...my journey continues into the unknown

just wanted to share it with yas 👍👍

I had MRI scans on my neck (cervical spine) and brachial spine, the next section down, a few years after my RTA. They showed root nerve damage in various sections, vestibular exercises combined with mindful movement of the neck made a huge difference to functions in my arms and shoulders. It's not a quick fix but over time the difference is amazing and you get to know your body and accept what is there which reduces anxieties and thoughts surrounding the issues. Recently I have had more scans in these areas, my GP is thinking of referring me for surgery. I have come to the conclusion though that as long as I do my exercises I can remain quite functional and can do most things, I have adjusted my life to live with the restrictions, I am happy with that, the danger with surgery in these areas is that it can affect other areas further down the body along the chain of the spine. I'll attach some general info flintrehab.com/cervical-spi...

the consultant you see about your neck will be a neurosurgeon or neurologist, lookup degenerative cervical myelopathy for reference about your neck, its whatI have got and it can leave you paralysed, whichhas happened to me. Don't do no neck exercises until you see them because you could do yourself a lot of harm . Spinal cord compression is far more serious than nerve compression, your Spinal cord is half inch wide and the same consistency as jelly and all the messages from your brain to all of your body travel through the nerve fibers in the cord. So any pressure on the spinal cord can cause so many different symptoms below the level of compression
