Hi Just an update. Still waiting for the divorce to come through and a settlement he has sent me a letter telling me to leave the family home.

Having falls this last one cut my head badly paramedic came and dressed my head and explained to me that as I was so sick afterwards it’s called concussion due to the fall. What next? Love Liz and Shelly xx🌹🙏

Good to know you were checked over by a paramedic Liz. Maybe take extra care where you walk with Shelly for a while !

Do you have plans for where you'll live after selling up ? It's such a stressful business moving home ; I had to move after my divorce and it was heartbreaking for my kids leaving schools & friends.

I'm thinking Mark will be you right hand man when the time comes .....I do hope so m'love... 😏 x

Oh my dear ; As Jen has stated you mustn't budge 'til your solicitor has decided on a fair settlement - at the very least !

Look after yourself and stay put, in the knowledge you're well within your legal (& moral) right.....

Please let us know what your solicitor has to say when he/she has had time to assess all the details.

Thinking of you Liz.. Love Cat Xx

Perhaps email your solicitor before the Easter bank holiday Liz?

Horrid behaviour on his part.

I think it likely the company (or his shares in it) would count as a matrimonial asset to be divided between you ( particularly if it was set up during your marriage).

Make a complete list of everything you both own, pensions, property, car, companies, the lot, for the solicitor - with Mark (two heads are better than one) and work out in minute detail all your living costs - it's always more than you think.

So sorry you are having to deal with all this

Jen x

Liz, I'm so sorry to read about your troubles, but I really don't think you should leave the family home until after your financial settlement and decree absolute are complete - I don't think he has any legal right to ask you to leave.

I believe it's also important to complete the financial settlement before the decree absolute (sorry I can't remember why).

Perhaps you or Mark can drop a note to your solicitor before you plan to leave your home. The status quo ( i.e. you living in your home and his contribution to household bills) has to remain the same until your divorce is finalised.

It might be agreed that the house is yours, as both parties have to be left able to manage in English law - and he has proved that he can live perfectly well elsewhere - so he doesn't need the house.

Thinking of you anyway 🙏 x

Hi, he has applied for the divorce in Tenerife so thank goodness I have just found a solicitor in the U.K.

Yes that's very important to get a solicitor. If he has only applied for divorce though, you mustn't leave the house.
