Does anyone else have increased head symptoms when they are sick with something else? Currently have a virus of sorts - sore throat, aches etc (not covid) and head seems to revert to sore and tired and noises irritate me etc
Thanks
I’m almost 4 years since initial head injury and 3 since second 😬

Hi kiwi, yes whenever I am I’ll whether it be a cold covid or anything else it always makes my brain injury symptoms like word searching, balance and head pain worse. Hope you feel better soon love Alice xx
Thank you 🥰 at least the head kinda lets you know you are getting a cold etc by flaring up your symptoms 😀 I do remember now the first time I got a virus after my accident I thought I had done something too strenuous that’s why my symptoms were worse - the old boom bust thing but alas it was a nasty vomiting bug😬thanks for your reply 😀
Hi Beach, yes. If you can remember back to pre injury, that feeling you had with a heavy cold, like walking through treacle. After the injury, you already have one foot in the treacle, a cold just throws in a tub Evostick. 🍀
I had covid a while ago and it has completely set me back symptom wise with everything returning with a vengeance. I felt I was improving until then. The pains in my head have returned for sure
Yes, any illness does make the symptoms appear worse, and we take longer to get over things. At least that is what I have been told. The brain works harder at everything, even the automagic stuff, so when we are sick we get tired and burnt out faster.
This virus really is knocking me been in bed for 3 days throat is so sore😢 and balance is off head hurts and eye blurry😢 thanks for all your reply’s I know I will get over it - I hate being sick 😬 as Does everyone 😀
Just overdoing it (long day showing friends around London) makes my eyes blurry and my body aches - I feel lethargic, and the general fuzziness of perception - everything slowed up - is back with a vengeance. Hoping it will clear up soon. Wishing you well BLKiwi.
