Care package !!!!

My doc referred me to a memory specialist. she asked if i had a care package i have no idea about it. i do have one for my COPD. She is going to come to my house to do a memory test and i dont want to sound ungrateful but my husband will insist on sitting in on it and he wont be able to keep his mouth shut. He is awful and will interupt to include himself into any conversation. Thing is they want someone who knows me to sit in on the test. as he is already here it seems the obvious thing to include him. In the past as i am about to see a doctor i have said to him dont forget this is MY appointment.

Care package? Lucky you. We don’t even get visits from a district nurse here…

Can you share your concerns with the memory specialist before they come? Then they can be aware of your husband interruptions? They can tell him before you start your session, to keep quiet? He sounds hard work. 😩

All I can suggest in the absence of an appointment letter that would have the number, is to head him off at the pass, if he goes off on one, make it clear to the assessor that you dissagree.

If he is just over the top, with good intentions, hopefully he and the assessor will understand. If it is by way of controlling, is there a friend that you could ask to be present that can speak up for you? 🍀
