Does anyone have any successful venlafaxine stories please? It’s my next med to try x I have severe anxiety and panic which has led to depression. I’m sensitive to meds so struggle to get on a high dose. What dose worked for you? ❤️ Please advise as I need hope x

Maybe not the answer you were looking for but meditation and mindfulness have helped me an awful lot. I think without it I would not have even have been here anymore. It’s certainly not a quick fix but with dedication and a good teacher you can come a long way.

The work of Eckhart Tolle might be helpful too. His books and he has a channel on YouTube with lots of video clips.

All the best🙏🏻

I liked Effexor. I can't remember what dosage because it was about 15 years ago. I have panic attacks and anxiety too. One of my spinal surgeons prescribed that for me.

That's great...I tried venlafaxine for 1 day and I was completely wired, really agitated and too wired to sleep, scared the hell out of me so stopped and now on lamotrigine. Did that happen to you for a while and, if so, did it settle? x

I took it for about a year but I was on a lot of pain medication at the time. Actually, I slept pretty good on that. A lot of psychiatrists like to give me the Seroquel now. The Seroquel at high doses makes me too tired though. I only take 25 mg of that at night. Have you tried that?

Oh ok. So you didn’t have the initial wired feeling and then it subsided? Nope just on lamotrigine 25mg have severe anxiety but not any problems sleeping x

No, not that I remember. Yeah, on the lamotrigine (Lamictal) I started on low dose and worked up to 150 mg a day. I was taking that along with duloxetine (Cymbalta). I went through so many medication changes over the years. 😎

Did Lamotrigine help at all for depression and anxiety? X

I think it did, yes. Low dose doesn't do too much though. You're doc should gradually increase yours over time. Good luck with that!
