Hi all is anyone out there having problems with blood from their brain bleed on their nerves? I understand that it bleeds and goes down your back and settles under your buttocks where nerves are. Im still finding this painful either sitting or laying in bed. From your buttocks it goes to the back of your knees to the nerves there and then down to the soles of your feet. Either place can be extremely painful to the point of crying. A doctor said it will go it needs to disperse around your body. Is there anyone in the same position as me ?

Nerve pain
I've never heard of this before, not to say it isn't true, but if so, then what the Dr say makes sense about reabsorption.
Hello, peronally I fortunately did not experience nerve pain after my brain bleed. I have not read anything related to brain injuries that causes nerve pain or damage, however about 80% of the content on the web is nonsense and I don't read that much, so I really don't know.
I believe their is a misunderstanding or poor explanation. If there is a prolonged bleed from a wound then blood can be absorbed into the tissues. However, it can't then travel to other parts. What it can do is then create a denser piece of tissue which may then irritate nerves and muscles near by.
A similar thing happened to myself. After some knee surgery, one of the stitches was not secure and the blood was spurting out for at least an hour before they staunched the wound. It was few days before the bleeding stopped. Afterwards, I was left with a rubbery feel to the tissue which lasted 18 month. This area was in the vicinity where nerves pass through and affected movement and all sorts of other issues.
A similar thing could have happened where you have an area near a nerve which has changed in density and this could then be affecting a nerve which runs down your spinal column - e.g. your sciatic nerve which follows that path from your lower spine down to your leg into your foot.
Nerve pain can in deed be excruciating. One simple way to test for nerve pain is to put something that vibrates harsly (electric razor or hair clipper) on the skin at various points. You will soon know where the pain point is - but then curse me for suggesting it because it will be exceedingly painful for days
Thank you for replying. Sciatica was mentioned to me not sure if a trapped nerve is the same thing but that was also mentioned. Things are a lot easier for me now. Exercises like just simply walking have eased off a lot of it as well as pain killers. Life is easier and getting better over the weeks. Need to sort out my memory now. Good luck to you.
Hello Jill, sorry you are in pain, it might be good for you to talk to the Headway helpline about it for a better explanation and some support. It sounds like you are having a difficult time with it, and a sympathetic and knowledgeable ear is always good. You can talk to them about anything you are going through.

Thank you for responding. My pain is almost gone. Although sitting or a length of time can be a bit awkward as i want to get up and walk. I have realised that yes i do need painkillers...they do help. Jill
Hi Jill I am new to the forum but I just read your post and the pain you mentioned is exactly what my husband is suffering with he had a bleed on the brain 20 months ago which left him severally mentally and physically disabled he is constantly in pain when he sits and has to have the chair/bed tilted to ease some of the pain he also has a lot of pain in the knees and feet so much so that even the slightest touch is agony for him he is taking Zoromoph and paracetamol which the Dr keeps increasing but they don’t seem to help very much he is waiting to see the neurologist but it’s a long wait I was just wondering what you were prescribed kind Regards Christine
