After 7 days of Isolation I’m into Kings tomorrow for hopefully my last visit there for a while.
I have felt ok but today the nerves are really getting to me, I think because when I had my accident I had no recollection of going for the op and took a while to come back to from the amnesia. Ironically it would have been a bigger operation with more risk.
I have avoided all social media and the news just to try and keep sane. Hopefully I will be out within 2 or 3 days.

Wow, so your surgeon kept her word and found you a really early slot. You're obviously nervous m'love but this is far less invasive than your previous surgery and, from reports here, it's the start of better days . I do hope so.
And maybe the timing hasn't worked out too badly (if the funeral directors have managed to delay your mum's service 'til next week ?) If so, you could just make it, albeit taking things v.slowly & gently.
Please keep us updated as soon as you're able. Thinking of you and hoping you're all fixed up and back on your feet within a day or so. Cat x
Thank you Cat. I am nervous but know I’m in good hands. They have managed to push the funeral to 14th of March so I should have time to recover well enough to make it it.
That's so good to hear Catperson. Considering all the physical, practical & emotional challenges you're facing I'm sure a bit of luck here and there doesn't go amiss !
Hope you're sighing with relief this time tomorrow.... 😏x
Hi just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your cranioplasty I hope all goes well I had mine in August 2021 The physios had me up and about the day after and I was home a few days later.
A little Swollen & bruised
but honestly it’s the best thing that has happened to me during my recovery journey so far! I love my new head!
Thank you Charlie. It’s a bit daunting, but compared to what I have been through it will be a walk in the park. It will be nice not to have to wear a crash helmet
I have gained so much confidence & self esteem since my CP.
I feel like I have actually started to live my life abit more I hope this happens for you too.
What helped me was focusing on the end result if all went well the best case scenario think what you will do after a successful cranioplasty? Eg will you go on holiday?
Sounds silly but I also sang my favourite song a Fleetwood Mac song (Other songs are available)
in the anaesthetic room whilst I was being put under
it helped me anyway to take my mind off whst was ahead!
All the best to you. Please keep us updated
I was up to using my phone about 2 hours after surgery and was ringing all my family as was not allowed visitors due to covid
Same as me. I'm going in tomorrow for surgery on Thursday and don't remember thr first surgery at all. I was in a coma and thr first I knew about it was dinning that my hair had been shaved. I've got mixed emotions, nervous about going in, sad as it means another major hospital visit but exited as its a other major step done I'll be in the royal london
Best wishes for tomorrow Catx1978 ; hope all goes smoothly. Great reassurance here from Catperson18 - having the wherewithal to update us only hours after his procedure ! 🙂
Great to see you posting already Catperson ! So good to know you're over this hurdle and I hope you'll now relax and recover. Do get all the rest you can though to fully heal !
