So,went for long bath last night and glanced at iPad before went to bed, there's a missed call from son...well,obviously not from son but the rehab unit.someone spent some time setting it up yesterday.so I've just sent a msg to say will ring to set up suitable time for contact later.he will be so happy to see his dog."socks"will bark to say hello,I've been teaching him for weeks, but he not daft, will only comply with biscuits!so,better get the digestives in!xx
Just my luck!: So,went for long bath last night and... - Headway
Just my luck!
Sod’s law that D. By your post you do sound to be in a better place today. It will be great for you to have this IPad communication in between your weekly visit. I am sure your son will be very happy to see/hear his faithful companion. Best wishes for brighter days to come. Nanapal. x
Like Nan, I'm seeing a more upbeat D since Friday's visit ! Can't wait to hear of your son's reaction to seeing Socks again..... 🐕 x
Good morning ... it will be so good for you and your son to be in contact....my son Craig had a SAH last March and is still in rehab ..... but how good is it to be able to have some contact with him in between visits ...what would we do without this technology ? We bought Craig an I pad and holder so we don’t have to wait for his turn... there is a setting on there where it will do an automatic pick up so we don’t have to wait until someone has the time to answer and stand and hold the pad while you chat ....this limits your time so much. ... the staff know just to position the pad so we can see Craig. ....it’s great ...I drop in on him several times a day and we chat ...well I say that ..I chat as Craig is non verbal at the moment but is good with his facial expressions ..... but I show him around the house and garden.....I show him what I’m making for dinner sometimes I just prop the pad in front of the tv and we watch his favourite programmes together .... the rest of the family and friends pop in to say hello ... it would be good if you could get a pad..... anyway have a good FaceTime with your boy ...please don’t expect too much it’s such early days for your boy ....it’s a long hard road but never loose hope...the brain is a complicated thing and our boys are amazing ...I’m sure he’ll get there ...take care lovely x
We bought a clamp off of Amazon so that the device is always clamped to my husband's bedside table. This made such a difference. No nurse involvement unless there is a problem with the technology.
God o,so hope my man will soon be able to respond and have contact with me,I havnt even had chance to try out the connection the unit made yet, visiting Friday again, see what they say?...
That's not too far away. But sure it feels some way away. Why don't you call them up and be a bit more of a nuisance. Flip sake I called a million times a day about EVERYTHING until my husband could manage a few things himself. Of course trying to stay away from meal times and changeovers of staff. Did you say he has his own iPad in there?
Hi,that's really helpful actually.my son isn't that capable yet unfortunately, but the thought that I could do this is great.he has only been in the rehab unit 2 weeks, but I bought a tablet for him and its there.I visit on Friday so its a matter of established times for video calls.it must be so comforting to be able to have contact any time, god willing my time will comexx
