Dear All,I got justifiably cross recently,I didn't behave badly eg shout/swear etc but some say I seemed grumpy.I was grumpy!however its now been attributed to my abi, my question is does this ever end?Do you ever reach a point post abi where people stop attributing a lot of things you do to brain injury or is this the rest of my life-trying to keep a lid on as best I can?thanks

I think as time passes people become less sympathetic, unless you have experienced a brain injury, most people think it is something you just get over, and in some ways, you do create coping strategies, but there is always a latent phenomena. Those that know you well, may learn your coping strategy, to others there will be something they can't quite put their finger on. That is dependent on the level of residual effect you have.

I think so,because in my experience, people get bored with it all n in reality in the meantime ,we r the ones living in it/like this/day to day/just trying to survive. For me..i started to focus on just me n not what was being said about me.Frustrating beyond belief but u learn to have a tough shell as the years pass.Sometimes being cross does get our point across.
