I haven’t listened as I was put off by the statement that Kabila travels the world... I don’t think this is a wise or realistic statement to make to the brain injury community. It is a reckless statement. People with real brain injuries cannot travel the world.

I used to travel the world before my Brain injury not after. They mention it because they want to show how much my life has changed x

It doesn’t say that though it says ‘currently travels the world speaking to people with tbi.’

This statement is unrealistic and will raise false expectations for survivors and their families,

Thanks for your comment, I help charities and speak to help raise funds for survivors and their families and sometimes that involves travelling. Everyone has a different recovery and I’m trying to give back in my way. X

Hi Bonfire 🤗

I feel your "real brain injuries" term is pretty unfair to Kavib.

Not to be disrespectful to either of you.

We have all suffered greatly in our own ways and struggled to get where we now are on our journeys, how you judge Kavibs suffering to not be "real" in comparison to either yours or someone elses, is shocking to me and (sorry if I'm speaking out of turn Kavib) I imagine it is deeply upsetting for Kavib.

I appreciate the statement ‘currently travels the world speaking to people with tbi' may appear to be glamorising Kavibs travel but that's just a descriptive term of her travel. We don't see the preparations that go into Kavib actually being able to accomplish it (Kavib may need to rest completely for a week before) or do we see the recovery she needs after.

Kavib, if you don't mind me asking how do you prepare and recover?

It does not give me false expectations. I am inspired by and very happy for Kavib. To see someone who has suffered so greatly and who has fought to build another life for herself, no matter how much she still may suffer because of it is fantastic and makes me proud even though I don't know her, I know some of her struggle. Kavib... 👌❤🤗

Yes absolutely @Freebie8 , I take a day before and then a few days after to recover from travel however I like to focus my time on helping the charities by speaking on their behalf.

Preparation is another challenging task as I have to rewrite as i still make mistakes and forget things but I always have to have my note cards with me to help with my memory and so that I don’t miss important points.

Thank you for asking!
