Hi, my cranioplasty was on 15th May last year, I was discharged from the hospital back to rehab on 19th May and then discharged from rehabilitation the following weekend. Staples and stitches were removed 10 days later at my local GPs. The surgery lasted just over 3 hours. Recovery really was only a couple of days, I have had no side effects from the surgery and with my hair grown the scars are not noticeable. There are a couple of defects which can be remedied with fillers if I wish. The only problem I have is that my eyebrow has dropped and I cannot raise it, my surgeon advises it could take up to 18 months to rectify itself.

My anxiety decreased post op, I had already been in rehabilitation for 4 months prior to the cranioplasty so I was close to being set free anyway. I certainly felt a lot better once it had been done so yes I think it aided my recovery.
