Itchy

I have been itching since Saturday. Getting worse every freakin day. My muscles ache from the scratching. My skin is raw. I tried calamine lotion and Benadryl. The lotion actually enraged the itching. ???????? Everything itches. Deep in my ears, my gums, my eyes, oh my goodness. I'm practicing my Lamaze breathing because it's so awful. At this point it's like I'm surrounded by prickly harsh Brillo pads and I'm in between tears and insane laughter.. Ugh

What does your gp or pharmacy say? I agree that itching is awful.... And I've had to breathe through it at times. But I found out what triggered mine and got treatment. Hope you can too

Hi Bri. I was prescribed cream for itching after getting shingles. It's called 'Eurax' and has worked for me where all others haven't. A large (100 g) tube is under £5 on Amazon.

Try it. It claims to work for 4-6 hours but I find it stays active for much longer. Cat x

This sounds like a complex issue, especially as it seems you have a rather complicated history.

It sounds like you need a doctors input to be honest. The root cause needs to be found in order to treat it. There are all sorts of conditions that can cause itching. It could be directly due to a skin condition, or neuropathic in nature (due to nerve injury), psychogenic or you can also get itching as a side effect with some drugs (opiates for example).

I really do hope you get some relief soon

Dear LittleBribri,

How awful, for you, however Don't 'Muck About'...Get Yourself Seen by a Doctor NOW, not in the Morning, or next week, or when it's 'Convenient'....NOW! Phone your Doctors Surgery, follow their, 'Out Of Hours' System and DON'T be Fobbed Off. When, and if YOU Stick to Your Guns, then you Will be called, Tell the Doctor Exactly what you have told us. Ask Politely, but Definitely, for Help- in other words, be a Model Of Manners and Decorum, but Insist on being Seen. Lets be clear here you DO need Help!

Itching is No Fun, at all, an Ex Girl friend of mine, from some years back, had Very Bad Skin itching- which had Spread to her Personal areas too- She was 'Seen' on a Bank Holiday.

Please DO seek Help LittleBribri, can you let us know please? Kindest Wishes

He referred me to a dermatologist. My appointment is finally this up coming week. The itching is crazy. But if anyone knows how to go to a doctor or of your mind with itching and still be able to hold on to their complete decorum, please let me know how you did it.
