Professor Arnold Wilkins. He said I could contact him. He gave an optician practice with another professor . Unfortunately he is retiring and not taking on more patients. It's such a shame with a great need for it. I'm so glad it has helped you Pinkvision
I'm still pursuing somewhere else nearer to home. I will share anything I find having now at least got a lead.
What details do I need to give advice so hard to describe . I had to go to the bank. First time put other than food or doctors sine February. I had dark glasses onot and a deep brimmed hat. Kept my eyes to the floor. The lights are everywhere. Even people's clothes Were getting to me.
When I left I walked straight into someone and was staggering . One our in the natural light for a while could walk properly again. It's so stressful as u never know if I'm actually going to fall over or not. I shake badly too.
I'm determined to get out and about.

I'm hoping to get the assessment appointment soon for the tinted gkasses.
My concern is dealing with the actual lights on the room. How did you cope. ?
I've got to give this my best shot. Any advice on what info to take I'd appreciate as csn write a list before I go . Travel is daunting. Any more help appreciated.
Have got an appointment 19th September! Another professor about to retire. They said they would turn off the lights in the entrance for me to get to the room. An hour and a half. Long time . So fingers crossed I'm a candidate for tinted gkasses ti help me.
I've got an appointment in September for a proper full assessment . Thank you for your help with this. Professor Arnold Wilkins and Professor Bruce Evans seen ti have written a book. Hope you are doing okay.
That's brilliant, have got my fingers crossed. I remember the relief I got.
Anyway been working at it really hard over the summer and have jumped up another level. I've been brain training, building up neural networks by drawing and geometry, again astonishing effects, my 3D and spacial awareness is more or less normal again (except in LED and fluorescent light). My ability to focus my concentration has improved dramatically so has my memory, these have been done by focus exercises, one by 'tightrope' walking along an old railway line, I could only manage about 3 steps when I started about 8 weeks ago and now I can go for hundreds of meters on a good day. Anyway this has focused my concentration and vision and has improved my core body strength. Another exercise is barefoot walking on grass for at least 20 mins per day, again it's a focus exercise, it also balances the body, gets rid of tension, eases back and sciatic nerve problems. Another benefit from barefoot walking is a bit controversial and that is that your body gets electrically grounded and resonates to 432 Hz. This apparently is the resonating frequency of the earth and anything that has evolved on it. The evidence comes from space science, people on the space station have a layer of material in their suits that ground them to 432, also trauma units and ambulances in Germany apparently use this material as it gives much better outcomes for patients. What I say is that you don't notice anything at the time when doing it, but you really notice it if you miss a few days because you start feeling rotten. So I think it really helps by reducing the static in the messed up electrical brain. It makes sense.
Another one is that I learned to type properly as an aid to recovering the dexterity in my left hand after a nerve op. It's working for that alright but a big bonus is that my flow of thought and memory has improved dramatically, I mean DRAMATICALLY. It's much better than when writing by hand. it could be new skill new flow of information around the problem area. (BRAIN PLASTICITY)
Then to top it off I've learned a little yoga and practice meditation. Life is really improving, I've signed up for a mindfulness based cognitive therapy course starting in October. Hopefully it will bring everything together and fill the cognitive gaps and also try to learn a method for dealing with LED and fluorescent light triggered panic attacks.
Stay in touch, I'm interested to hear about your optometry experience. I think you will be in good hands this time.
So glad you are making improvements . All that hard work paying off. I'm going to walk around my garden bare foot thus morning . Don't think I'll manage as long as you do but can build up. I'm also having another MRI scan of my brain and neck (not sure about spine) paid to see a neurologist. (NHS one discharged me!!!) who specialises in headaches. Although I've not taken the propranolol he prescribed I will have the MRI. It's back in the NHS. So won't be for ages as non urgent. I found the last brain one very difficult after the first 15 minutes . At least I'll know what to expect this time. With his opinions I've read about Occipital neuralgia which I think could have happened in the fall in had?? Reason to have a look at my neck is think. No explanation still has been given for my symptoms. Hoping Professor Wilkins is right to think I may be a candidate for the tinted lenses. I sent him a long detailed email. Poor man in his retirement . He obviously dedicated. Keep up your well earned improvemeets.
