You have 1 month from the date on the decision letter to request a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR), this will be in the decision letter you received. Before you can go to appeal a MR request has to be made.

Sometimes I feel like I'm their PR department but most CABs should be able to advise regarding the MR and appeal process.

Most PIP appeal are successful at the moment, good luck and from what you say regarding you medical condition you really would benefit from good advise and if possible representation, should it come before an Appeal Tribunal.

Hi Katy, I just had my mandatory reconsideration and they again decided not to help me. Today I wrote to my local mp explaining my concerns in the Hope that they can help with my appeal. If so frustrating and draining

Yes what I’m scared of, the affect on those around me too. Best of luck to you x

I'd be careful relying on your MP, I've known cases which have missed deadlines due to the MP's staff not understanding what they're trying to do.

Certainly raise social policy issues with MPs, as they extend beyond your own case.

Katy,

Gather ALL the evidence you can, get letters of support from your GP, from specialists you've been referred to, from anyone who has been a part of your recovery. Spend a few minutes composing a letter that essentially debunks everything the DWP say in their letter of refusal (they're all pretty much the same pack of lies) and send it off with your evidence.

It worked for me and as has been said before, most appeals are successful.

Good luck...

Andy
