Morning is nearly here

Hi to all the people who have been awake all night and can't sleep. Morning is nearly here.

If it wasn't such bad weather we might be able to hear the birds singing, but not today.

Instead the wind is hollering about making the gate rattle, not quite so tuneful.

The rain is hammering on the glass conservatory roof - which is helping keep me wide awake, but as annoying as it is, it reminds me how lucky we are to actually have a roof at all, and not be homeless.

It often feels lonely in the early hours, especially if you've been awake for a long time. But it's a chance to think without the demands of the day. In the middle of the night there's no one to tell you what to do, nowhere you have to be, no one you have to explain your behaviour to.......it's peaceful.

Hope you all have a good day. Remember to try and find time for a rest half way through the day if you've been awake for hours tonight. x

Hi Ellie, you're one night ahead of my sleepless night, which would have been on Monday. I lay motionless, refused to get up, eyes shut "waiting for godot". No rhyme nor reason as to why you can't reach the state of sleep. It just is. But if you were to put a positive spin on it, early morning is the best time of the day, but not for thinking about life's problems, eh!

I'm sure you will be in for a much better sleep tonight! x

I couldn't resist mentioning this product utmostme.com/ comes in two varieties; one to knock you out, one to sharpen your brain for the next day. Might be useful?

I’m definitely going to get some help if this turns out to be a pattern, just hoping it’s a blip. I’ll look that up :) thank you

Hi Elenor,

Picked up your post when i woke. I no longer have sleep worries the pregabalin i am on makes me drowsy, having said that if theres something on my mind i can still toss and turn.

What works for me is knowing im going to be awake for at least the next couple of hours so i dont fight it. I get up make a cup if tea, even been known to do the ironing, and I always finish off listening to my audio book, very often asleep before the autotimer i set shuts it off. So annoying next day when you have to try and find just where you dropped off. Not good with short term memory issues.

Ive been found fast asleep on the sofa next day before now!!

Talking short term memory, a plus is i can resurrect all those Wasgij puzzles i did in the earlier days of recovery, because i cant remember what the picture actually was, so no need to buy new.

Im doing an old masters at the moment, its a Van Gogh, cafe in the street i think, ill get there but it is very hard🤔

Ok hope your day is fine

Janet xx

Yes - i don’t know what’s caused my recent return to waking at silly o’clock. I’m hoping it’s a blip. The radio is a god send. I’m happier now that the winters gone and it’s lighter earlier, dint ever want to return to the craziness of being up all night every night.

Huge relief - an unbroken night last night. No so much the two bad nights that bothered me, more a fear that I was about to return to bring awake all night like I was before. I think it was just head pains waking me up. Feeling so much better today. How are you doing?

I agree that knowing a good night's sleep is achievable is really reassuring after a period of wakeful nights, otherwise it starts to feel like a life sentence ! I had three in a row on Mon, Tues, Wed, and struggled last night 'til 4am, but eventually dropped off and woke at 12.30 ! (Good thing I'm answerable to no one these days :O ).

I'll message you later if that's ok..... xx

I was up last night due to pain.

I have zopiclone from the GP but only take it when I absolutely tried everything else.

I'm off work again and under watch because of the amount of time off I had for illness and appointments.

I am scared to lose my job but I have no choice today as I'm taking tramadol and can't drive.

Fingers crossed it will be warmer and I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Hi,

I'm so sorry. What a worry. You dint need the extra pressure when you're poorly on top of everything. I was worried as I've had a good spell of about eight weeks with mostly six hours a night and one night I even had seven which was great. Two nights with just four and five hours felt like I was back to square one. I usually stay away from everything evxeot the radio but when I realised I wasn't going to get back, I thought I'd say hi to all the other people who are troubled by sleeplessness - just to do something positive.

Thank goodness I got seven last night again ......it's like being a new person.

I hope you're able to get yourself back on course. I'm hoping to resturn to work in the near future if anyone will have me. Wishing you a good and pain free night. xx
