PIP finally

I went for a visit to the county court on Friday after being turned down for PIP 4 times and walked out real pleased. Even the judge wanted to know why I was turned down. There was a lady from the DWP and she gave 10 of the 12 points required. So if anyone is disappointed with the treatment they are getting go for the tribunal. You have more chance. Dave

I’ve got my tribunal tomorrow. My PIP was stopped in May last year. I was due to have a tribunal in November but that was cancelled to be rescheduled. It’s been a long road

Long road, too true. It was 4 attempts and even the last one. I reckon Capita has something to answer for. Good luck on your tribunal. Dave

A lot of these decisions are just wrong, in fact 60% of PIP appeals succeed at Tribunal.

However a lot of appeals can have more complex issues were specialist advice would give a greater chance of a successful outcome.

I noted that there was a PIP representative, the DWP has been allocated £22m of public money to hire new “presenting officers” to “support” it at disability benefit appeal hearings. I'm far from sure, given the dynamics of the court process that this will significantly alter the number successful appeals, if it doesn't expect a change in the regulations to occur.

Congratulations on winning your battle. Maybe it is worthwhile taking it further. My daughter has M.E and can only get job seekers allowance when there are days she can't even stand never mind work. Never gets any points when she goes to these stupid assessments.

Thanks for that. I was only getting 2 points for being deaf. I was given 0 for everything else. I can walk etc., until I pass out and wake up in hospital. I can eat, except for the food and drink all over the place. I can cook until I collapse and set fire to the kitchen twice. Fight for it, and be a nuisance. Good luck. Dave x

Congratulations. I heard of a man who had bee turned down 15 times for D.L.A. He was awarded it on the 16th attempt. Never give up.

Cor and I thought I had it bad. However, that old saying comes to mind, " if at first you don't succeed , try, try, try again. I'm not scared of spiders. " I think 15 times, I'd be pulling my hair out. If I had some. Dave x

Thanks Liz. Today I received the written confirmation of the results from the tribunal department. That's quick as I only had the tribunal on Friday. Dave x
