Unfortunately only you can do this and changing ones view of the world and where you now fit in is a toughy.
Personally i have the same issues, except my view is from one where i am now 65 and time is running out.
I am desperately trying to regain my previous fitness. I cant run, not even for a bus i have to let them go, i cant use a lot of gym equipment i can only use a recumbent bike so thats out but wouldnt trust myself on the road anymore. I wont drive anymore, my sight is affected.
I can only see me getting worse as i age but im not going to give up trying.
And nor should you, you still have time to improve things for yourself, it may not be as you once were but hey at least you had that once.
Nothing is sure in this life, we have to play the hand we are dealt or you are shortchanging yourself.
This lady must have the usual after effects of brain surgery, so yes, one hell of an accomplishment. 😲 (I'm so in awe of the sea I'd be terrified, even without brain injury !
Thanks Shirl ; hope you're getting the sunshine today too wherever you are.....
