By popular demand (well, Cat asked) our trek around The Knight's Trail of Lincoln will be covered over the next few days. Much like the Baron Trail, two years ago, unbelievably
And so, up first 'Quintessentially English Knight.'
Sir Robin Toppingham was educated at home in the Castle by his mother, Lady Janice Stiffupperlip. Lady Janice was a single mother who raised Robin as best she could, but mostly failed leading Robin to turn to jousting as a release from life in the ghetto

Sounds a good way of seeing more of Lincoln. Apart from Christmas mayhem..err sorry I mean market I only seem to have seen Brayford pool and high street area.
Think a proper visit is in order. Keep saying I was going to go round the castle...Still not been.
Pax - now is a really good time to do the castle too and the Collection/Usher Gallery. Loads of stuff here at the moment - Domesday book is in the Castle, and in the Collection/.gallery they have things like the execution writ for Mary Queen of Scots and the abdication letter of King Edward VII. A really good time (although it's always a good time, really) to visit Lincoln!
And Bank Hol weekend is the SteamPunk festival - loads of people dressed like something out of the Rocky Horror Show but with sprinklings of Star Wars/Trek, frankenstein, tea and gin...You have to see it to believe it.
Was asking my daughter about the castle....She's never been. In 4 years of being at uni and never been. Worse still she studied history..... in fact medieval history at that.
She can't even say she spent to much time in the pub as she dosent really drink....Well not much anyway.
Fantastic. Looking forward to seeing these, Andy, especially as I have failed so far to spot them all! Can't be @rsed to do the full trail - it must take hours with there being so many...
