On 2 May, a letter arrived ceasing my treatment at the local hospital was stopped, due to ,the old favourite, staffing shortages.
Good old penny pichin' NHS!!! Familiar?
It's pretty scary Scruffy. People think I'm paranoid but, as I see it, this is a devious, slow-burning plan to take us into a private system.................think how much more revenue it would create for the 'Havs' in this two-tier society !
The way is already being paved, by paying private practices to treat NHS patients, and that's where so many medical staff are gradually migrating to. So it's a foregone conclusion that NHS hospitals will close through staff shortages ; some already have.
I had an eye op recently. My optician warned me it could be next year before I'd get a consultation with an ophthalmologist at the Manchester eye hospital, whereas with the private clinics now operating (3 local ones to choose from) I'd be seen within a matter of days.
So............they have certain days for NHS (free) treatments, where patients are crammed in like sardines and kept waiting for over four hours. But everyone's lovely and there's as much free tea, coffee and biscuits as you want, and you don't complain 'cause it's brought your treatment forward by months.
It's basically another move toward the US system where you either pay or use an underfunded, understaffed, under resourced system of healthcare.
And it'll come, because our national health service simply isn't getting the financial backing to sustain it. And tired, demoralised staff will be lured away by higher pay and shorter working hours.

That said, I seem to have hit a raw nerve – talking of nerves, I don’t suppose anyone knows of anybody who specialises in this? I have loads of nerve damage just waiting to be sorted. In fact, it’s almost as if I’d had two separate head injuries! That would make the hot potato analogy, more understandable.
At the, I lived in Hertfordshire, under a health authority that seems to change its name on regular basis.
Scruffy, the surgeon who operated on your brain should be a neurosurgeon and your consultant would have been a senior neurologist, so either would have the appropriate knowledge and expertise to treat your nerve problems.
Buy this isn't always straightforward as nerves are often surrounded by blood vessels & muscle so, for pain relief, medication may be the only viable treatment. x
Interesting, if heavy stuff.
Unfortunately, I find myself in a hideously complicated situation. Firstly, there’s a car accident, 24 years ago and all of the associated goings on( 3 hospitals etc.). Even now, it won’t go away. How did I break MY LEFT collar bone?
I assume the surgeon at the first hospital had the required know how.
Secondly, there’s this constant lack of motivation and energy, which I’ve put down to my liver not producing the required stuff for my body (apparently, this was damaged in the accident. All my own work, so could be fiction.) Of course, this could be all mental, along with slow reactions, a right leg that is not exactly right, and on and on. Plus, I’m worried about my heart being slow and erratic. Again, the liver.(but no one else is, so maybe it’s all in my mind.)
But overriding to everything, is the feeling that you’re only being kept alive by other people. Makes me apprehensive of going away to Brighton for 3 days. Why, it’s silly. It’s probably worse trying to fit in here.
I’m thinking of trying the German Centre for Neurodegerative deseases. Try to get some advice on my next move.
That’s my long winded way of saying, there may have been some minor mental/nerve damage, which was undetectable to me as my brain/body had learned to cope with it without a problem. It's only looking back, I can see that when I used a camera, I had to watch the Image with my right eye. I was unable to “wink” my right eye. It didn’t stop me becoming a photographer though.
The second doctor signed himself as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, he was appointed in May, my accident was in Sept. A title that is in itself a bit iffy as a family friend took some photos of my car in the garage immediately after the crash. They show that the bus hit hard on the left, causing most damage to this side. The damage was such that the door would not open, hence the fire brigade. A couple of the shots also show the impact and, where there would have been a substantial impact on the drivers hip. Are you listening, Tefal?!! Even one of my physios has spotted this. But then, why you bother, it’s already decided I should be in a home!
And, this nerve thing. I've always assumed "Tefal" was just being a lazy bugger but, maybe there was a method in his madness? Still it does not seem any better, all this time later.

One day we'll have Donald Trump doing our private appointments, instead of the same doctors that are too low paid to be arsed to get out of bed to deal with you on the NHS

To make things easier;to almost ensure that suing is the easy option - consultants are actually telling prospective clients, the details of their insurers. Personally, I'd prefer it, if they had the knowledge to make decisions where no further action is necessary.
Sadly, I fear that all to often, other factors/people join the party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
