When life was a thrill...

Step D (Hollie) was ten yesterday. Forget the bike, forget the 16 hours of almost one stop attention from every member of the family, both close and extended...

The best present and what really made her day was the t shirt of our favourite band. I'm such a good step dad :)

I can understand the appeal. It would be the equivalent of a Gene Vincent tee shirt for me when I was 10.............................just doesn't get any better.

A bike can say quite a lot about you and can be great fun, but a tee shirt says who you are !! Lucky girl.

Brilliant. And Hollie looks prettier every time we see her. ;-/ xx

I think that's what's known as the,

'Just got out of the shower and ignored all orders to dry hair' look.

Both actually Paul. I had every record the Everlys ever made and used to sing my little heart out along to their brilliant harmonies.

I even went to a tribute concert last year (something I'd always thought naff). But the guys were so authentic that I thought they must be miming, 'til they broke off occasionally to address the audience.

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I sang along, as did many others, and knew every word of every song.

So you were spot on !

Hope you're doing ok ; lovely sunny day here in Manchester so hope it's the same where you are. xx

Thanks Cat! Not musical myself. Strange we recall the words after what has happened to us don't you think? Lots of missing memories but never words of songs.

Glad weather good for you - not bad here either, about 14degC and sunny with occasional cloud.

Rotten cold, sore throat but off work tomorrow for electric meter change until I return in the evening for a lecture.

Best ...

Paul

Here is South Kensington, London by the way.

Oh I like Kensington ; I used to work at the Royal Garden Hotel from time to time.

I'm sorry you've been unwell with cold & sore throat ; keep taking the paracetamol & loads of water ! Hope you feel better soon. xx

RGH is still there. Thanks for your thoughts on the cold. Off tomorrow until the late afternoon when I meet guests to attend a lecture. I'll at least get a rest!
