I see where you're coming from Debbie. After my transfer from ICU to Rehab I apparently greeted my son with a smile as he walked into the ward and he was so, so happy and relieved to see that smile, and told me so.
He said that was the moment he watched me come back from my world into his.
i know exacltly what you mean, when hubby was in hospitail for the first time,i used to dres up to visit him,one day i was wearing leggings a mini skirt,C,,N,D jumper and long boots,i greeted him with "hello gorgeous" and he smiled and looked me up and down and said " i think its the other way round" that gave me hope
What a wonderful thing to happen for you and for Mark.
Now that you both know he can smile I have full belief it will happen again.
It may take a while but it will happen. Sometimes in my journey I have done something but not been able to do it again for weeks. But just knowing that I did it gave me the much needed motivation to go on.
I am so pleased for you after your post the other day. I am sure this smile will be the first of many :)! I guess, I am not sure, but Mark is become more aware and his head is perhaps making more sense. This is how I felt soon after.
Keep us posted. All the waiting has been worth it π
