What a wonderful motley crew. Hope you enjoyed the experience Matt, but good to have you back on Terra Firma. xx
Wow! Not a big fan of boats (moving water always sets my vertigo off...) but that looks FAB!
The water was pretty calm that day and the ship was running by motor so a nice calm ride.
Which actually one of my comrades pointed out. They were a little disappointed that the boat was running by motor and didn't have all the sails down that day.
I think the reason why was because if the sails were down, the journey could have been a bit rough.
I'm sure they have the sails down if you pay for a holiday and it wasn't such a bad thing for me that they sailed by motor.
Aye aye Captain. You seem to have lost your parrot?! No seriously Matt looks like you had a great time and took your humour with you with getting into the part and going as a pirate.
My parrot flew away before I got on board, for some reason it did not like me haha, kidding.
It would have been good if I had an earring too :).
I probably did stick out like a sore thumb as no one else was dressed as pirates, party poopers, but the people really liked the hat I was wearing :).
You have a great sense of fun and that is to be admired do not join the party poopers. Bet they were all secretly wishing they had the courage to get into the spirit of things by joining you in fancy dress.
Well ahoy there shipmates !
You really look the business, Matt-loving the hat : )
Is that the boat you sailed on behind you ?
I'm going to fill in the blanks and guess the name is 'tenacious' ?
Did you get well fed and watered-hope there were no weevils in the biscuits !
Great pic and..........it's not raining ! : )
Thanks Angela :).
I was the only one on board dressed as a pirate so I stick out like a sore thumb haha.
That is the boat we 'sailed' on and you filled in the blanks correctly, the boat was called 'Tenacious'. They also have a second tall ship called the 'Fort Nelson'.
I say 'sailed' because a friend pointed out how we didn't exactly "sail" the seven seas because not all the sails were down. We "motored" the seven seas :).
We were well fed and watered. It was basic food but there were quite a few people on board so I wasn't surprised about the basic food.
No weevils from what I saw. Probably because we had no biscuits :). I did have a can of Guinness though and there wasn't any insects in that :).
at least you didnot get scurvy! lol
lol i should hope after just one day you didnot! if you did you need to eat lemons!
